No, I’m not talking about the hardcore band featuring Ray Cappo and Porcell, I’m talking about the annoying little scrots that piss me off on a daily basis. We walked into in a shady little kebab house in deepest darkest Salford (yep, Spices of Kashmir :p ) tonight, and witnessed the obnoxious little fucks at their worst.
There was one other guy in, obviously foreign, sat on his own minding his business and eating his food. Three of these arrogant little shits decide to sit directly across from him and just stare at the guy, occasionally asking inane questions designed to annoy like “You enjoying that mate?”.
This guy was obviously being made to feel pretty damn uncomfortable about the whole thing, and probably a bit intimidated too. Which is ridiculous, considering they were all of about 13 or 14 years old. Thing is, these kids know (or they think they know) that they can get away with this kind of behaviour all the time, and of course everyone is so scared these days of saying or doing anything to them.
Anyway, as luck would have it (for this poor foreign bloke anyway) a policeman walked in to buy something, so these kids lost interest and left. But what do you do?
Aside from all that, I had a pretty decent night. Ended up watching three bands at the Star and Garter in Manchester. The first was a friend of a friend’s band called ‘The Short-Cuts’, and they played melodic pop / punk stuff. Not really my kind of thing, but it was definitely fun to watch.
Next up were the ‘Flamingo 50′ (at least, I think that’s what they were called…). The band comprised of two girls fronting the band and one dude on drums. The girl that was on guitar and doing the vocals was absolutely tiny, but she totally rocked out and seemed determined to make as much noise as she possibly could with her guitar (which was definitely a lot). Again, not my bag but cool to see all the same.
Finally we got to see a fucking insane Spanish punk rock band called ‘P.P.M’. These guys reminded me of the Supersuckers in some ways, only slightly less melodic and not quite as polished. They played a super long set which became a little repetitive after a while, but they put on an excellent show and were definitely really into their thing. The bassist and guitarist / vocalist both had a remote setup on their equipment which meant maximum crowd interaction as they dashed about the place and caused total chaos. Nuts.
Its times like that when I feel the need to carry a firearm round with me and at the end of the first stupid question from the kids just pull your Glock/USP* and put it down on the table, don’t stop eating or look at them. If that didn’t have the desired effect then a couple of bullet holes in the head of annoying kid #1 and maybe #2 would put kid #3 off ever leaving his house again. In my eyes this would be a service to the community since there would be 3 less annoying little fucks like this on the street.
Its just ashame that half of Manchester police force would be sitting outside in minutes and I’d end up spending the rest of my life sat in a prison cell.
Still you’re right it pisses me off too and maybe I’m being a little extream there but thats what playing Counter Strike and watching the Soprano’s does to you! ;D
*substitute Glock/USP with the weapon of your choice.

Your knowledge of firearms as a result of playing that game definitely scares me sometimes :)

you’ll never do anythign about scrote kids, specially in salford, best thing to do, ignore the shitbags till they fuck off like this foreign guy was trying to do, chances are there’s enough scumbags where he comes from too..

yer agree with Fletch here - the last time I got a beating was for trying to top some youths taking the piss out of a mate. Sounds shit I know but ignoring it is prolly the safest option - for both the victim and on-lookers - sign of the times =/

Totally have to agree. Reckon Chris should just keep with the visual scariness tho. Not worth goin to jail for the little bastards!
I come from Liverpool, which lets face it, is full of little preteen bigots in shell suits, but I now live in London, which is fare worse in areas.
I’m only nineteen meself, and feel a bit like me dad saying this, but kids are such little fuckers! Considering that I would have classified mtself as a fervent socialist, I reckon any young realtions and (shock horro, wold be scared) kids of mine will be going to a toffs school. They will probably reckon they’re Mum’s a skank like, but let’s face it Nick, Wes, they wont be gfar wrong will they?

Being in Salford is asking for it really ;)

Crystal: It’d *almost* be worth it though. It is pretty fucked up how kids act these days, and yeah saying that makes me feel old too.
Dave: True, goes with the territory in Salford I guess. Mind you, so would shooting :)
