dischord.org » Weekend, and RIP Buffy
Well, what can I say. The weekend was fairly uneventful. Back to normal I guess after having almost too much fun previously.
We did play some post-Akash poker on Friday night which was cool. Still finished damn late though (4am fs!), we’ll definitely have to start playing sooner next time otherwise it completely fucks everyone up for a couple of days.
Oh, and I lost. No sign of that beginner’s luck any more :(
The Hot Water Music gig in Leeds on Sunday was a no-go, on account of not really being in the mood to drive all that way and still feeling a bit hosed from the previous couple of nights. I think that’s the third time I’ve missed them now….
As for Buffy - the series definitely went out on a high note in my opinion. Some of the below could be considered spoiler-y so don’t click on ‘Read More’ if you haven’t seen it yet and don’t want to know ;)
I don’t really see how they could have bettered this episode as far as it being the final one is concerned. It gave closure to pretty much every single outstanding issue of the series, and also blew the whole concept wide open as now there is no such thing as a ‘potential’ any more, nor is there a chosen ‘one’. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of repurcussions that’ll have on Angel or any other spin-offs (should there be any of course).
I really need to catch up on Angel now, especially seeing as I don’t have anything else to watch anymore.
At last its the end of the nightmare that has become buffy, now if only Sky would stop repeating all the series I’d be saved!
