How lame is this? Try resolving a non-existent domain name:

Which is:

Bah. This is going to cause no end of problems.

ETA: Here’s a patch for djbdns.

Business Owls

with 2 comments

I ventured over to Preston on Monday night to catch a couple of bands in action, namely Business Owls and I Piņata, the former being 1/2 of Milk and the latter just being generally all round bad-ass.

The whole night was really low key, just basically friends and stuff coming out to see their mates make a fool of themselves on stage and to hear some good music. Business Owls played first and did their best to warm things up which to be honest didn’t take much as the room was like an oven to begin with. Despite a few technical issues and shit they still rocked hard and definitely seemed to have fun doing so.

Nick Ainsworth followed next, whose set would probably have been more enjoyable if his vocals had been clearer, and after that some Preston locals took to the stage with strange instruments and weird antics.

The last act of the night was I Piņata, but unfortunately by this point most everyone who wasn’t a friend of the band had left which was a real shame as these guys fucking rock. Regardless, they put on a decent (if short) set with the boys from Business Owls and Nick Ainsworth joining them on stage for the last couple of songs to liven things up a bit.

I snapped a few photos which are here, and all in all had an ace night.

Weekend, randomness

Went over to Aintree on Saturday with Andrew and Wes to check out some sprint event that was being held there. The turnout was relatively poor, but that would have probably been because of the weather which was shitty to say the least. It cleared up though later on, and I snapped off a few photos once the event kicked off.

Saturday night was spent in Preston at Wes’s new gaff. Me and Boothy headed over there to drink Stella, watch Red Dwarf, and check out some nightclub called ‘The Warehouse’. The club was pretty cool (from what I remember), and had a three-floor thing going on each with different music. We stayed in the top room most of the night (metal!), and continued to drink beer. How we managed to get home afterwards without either killing each other or someone else I’ve no idea, but we made it and spent Sunday a little faded but no worse for the wear.

And what the fuck keeps happening to the tea spoons in this place? It’s hard making a brew with a tablespoon :(
