I generally delay updates like this as they’re hard to write up. I saw Hoover and Shellac play last week, and as I’m not creative enough to even begin to make an attempt at explaining how good they were, I won’t.

I did speak to a couple of the band members (of Hoover) after their gig in Manchester though, mainly to find out what the impetus was behind them reforming and touring the UK before even anywhere in the US. Basically the story is that their UK booking agent is the only person that had contact details for all five of them, and he reckoned it would be a good idea if they got back together and played. The band agreed, and that was that. Good on that man.

I took some photos at the Hoover gig which are now up here. No photos from the Shellac gig though as that would have been a battle to get to the front (700+ in attendance).

Hoover again tonight in Leeds, might as well make the most of the fact that they’re back together and touring again :D
