This came via email. The bit about Lungfish is awesome, as is news of the upcoming full lengths from French Toast and Medications:

The Evens, a duo featuring Ian MacKaye and Amy Farina, will have a full-length CD/LP out on Dischord on March 7, 2005 (US date). They will soon be playing in Newfoundland and are planning west coast dates for February. Check out their tour dates as they become available by going to http://www.dischord.com/tour

French Toast, featuring James Canty (Make Up, Nation of Ulysses) and Jerry Busher (All Scars, Fugazi) will be releasing their first full-length CD/LP, “In a Cave” on Dischord on March 7. They plan on touring extensively upon the album’s release. For more info go to http://www.frenchtoastdc.com

Q And Not U recently returned from a European tour which they have described as their best tour to date. Their new CD/LP, “Power,” came out in the fall and is still doing very well. The band will be playing sporadic shows over the winter and will tour the US in April. The band has a website you can check out at: www.qandnotu.org

Medications continue to play shows in support of their new EP on Dischord and have plans to record a full-length in February for a May release. For more information on Medications go to: http://www.medicationsband.com

Lungfish have recorded a new album, “Feral Hymns,” with Tim Green, formerly of Nation of Ulysses and currently of the Fucking Champs. The band is working on the artwork and we hope to have the album out this spring on Dischord. Beauty Pill recently returned from a tour with Travis Morrison. They will play a handful of shows in February and then settle into writing new material. Go to their website for more info: http://www.beautypill.com

Hoover reunited for a tour of the UK and are playing one show in Washington DC at the Blackcat. They are undecided as to whether this will translate into more dates elsewhere. The remastered version of their stellar debut full-length CD, “The Lurid Traversal of Route 7″ is also now available in stores and from the Dischord site.

El Guapo have changed their name to Supersystem and will be releasing a 12″ single followed by a full-length, both on Touch and Go Records. For more information go to http://www.supersystemband.com

Desoto will be releasing two new CDs on March 21st–Doris Henson’s “Give Me All Your Money” and Edie Sedgwick’s “her love is real…but she is not”

Del Cielo’s full length, “Us vs. Them,” will be released on March 7th on Lovitt Records. The band will be touring with North Carolina?s des_ark in March and will be doing shows throughout the spring and summer. You

The Bughummer CD,” The Getaway With, ” will be released on February 7th on Lovitt Records. Originally self-released in 1998, this rock outfit brought together Jonathan Procktor, Keeley Davis, and Brian Lackey, who were students at the Savannah College of Art and Design at the time. Davis, as you may know, later went on to join Engine Down..

A remastered version of Four Hundred Years’ second full-length,” Transmit Failure,” will also be released on February 7th on Lovitt Records. Originally released in 1998, during the prime of the group’s all-too-short lifespan from 1996-2001, this new version features revamped artwork and video footage of one of their live sets.

Decahedron will return to the studio in early 2005 to record a new five-song CDep on Lovitt with guest bassist Jake Brown (Moments in Grace).

Ben Davis will contribute 5 unreleased songs to a split release with The Rosebuds, fellow North Carolinians on loan from Merge Records. This release should be available in the summer from Lovitt.

The Rah Bras have recently finished recording a new dramatic and stunning new full-length which should be out soon on Lovitt. The band plans on playing a lot in the near future.

Available this month on Trixie Records is the first installment of the “Burn to Shine” film series, produced by Brendan Canty and directed by filmmaker Christoph Green. The DVD features live performances by The Evens, Q and Not U, Ted Leo, Medications, French Toast, Bob Mould, Weird War and Garland of Hours, all filmed in a house in Bethesda MD prior to it’s demolition. The DVD is available from January 25th the states and Europe and from the Dischord webstore around the same date. A second installment is to follow soon, featuring Chicago area bands such as Shellac, Tortoise and Wilco. More information is available at http://www.trixiedvd.com

Navies will be recording several songs in early February. The band will be playing shows in the spring and early summer, including an east coast tour in May and a west coast/midwest tour in June/July. Check http://www.naviesband.org for more details and tour dates.
